Environmental Management
The Company has comprehensively implemented several environmental managements programs in Jababeka's estates and it surroundings, including the Pollution Prevention program in order to facilitate the management and control of impacts caused by industrial activities, the 3R Concept (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse) to lessen the negative impacts on the environment, as well as the Energy Efficiency program as an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In an effort to implement these programs, the Company carried out several activities, including the development and operation of Integrated Waste Water Processing Installations (IPAL) and Water Processing Installations (IPAB), the introduction of a system to monitor the quality of waste water; air; waste; ground water; and surface water as well as the use of residue mud from waste water treatment as an alternative material to produce cement and composting from domestic waste.

The Company obtained a tangible result in 2009 when the "PROPER" rating from the Ministry of Environment was increased from BLUE to GREEN.

Natural Conservation and Environmental Friendly Programs
In connection with the presence of the Jababeka Botanical Garden, the Company has actively conducted greening and tree planting activities. One such activity was the "One Man One Tree" Program with Prof. Dr. Emil Salim, was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Forestry. Furthermore, the Botanical Garden has enticed the establishment of some Botanist Clubs.

Other environmental activities include digging biopory holes, applying organic fertilizer, and an environmental cleanliness competition in surrounding villages. All of these efforts evidence our commitment to support environmental friendly community development.

The acknowledgment of the Company's commitment to natural preservation came when the Jababeka Botanical Garden program was honored with the 3rd Best Practice in Indonesia CSR Award in the environment category.

In addition, the Company responded to the increased consumer awareness of a better environment by increasing open green areas and offering more eco-friendly home design and landscape. Consequently, in May 2009, the Company received the Green Property Award 2009, which is an initiative from the Housing Estate Magazine, for the Veranda Golf View Townhouse cluster.
