PT Jababeka Tbk was established in 1989 and is the first publicly listed industrial estate developer in Indonesia, being listed on the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchange since 1994.
The Company’s flagship development is the 5,600 hectare fully integrated township, Kota Jababeka in Cikarang, now home to more than 1 million inhabitants. In 1989, the Company started with the development of the industrial estate and infrastructure. In 1992, the critical mass for a residential and commercial estate was created in the form of employees of the industrial tenants; hence the Company commences its residential developments. In 1996 and onwards, the Company became a true township developer when other amenities and developments, such as the golf course and education park, were completed. Since 2007, Jababeka started realization of its beyond property theme by commencing power plant and dry port projects, which further complete and enhance Kota Jababeka.
The township is strategically located and easily accessible by toll road and railway system. Kota Jababeka lies 35 kilometer east of Jakarta’s Central Business District, 55 kilometer from Tanjung Priok International Seaport and 65 kilometer from Soekarno Hatta International Airport. In addition, the Company owns 1,000 hectare of industrial land in Cilegon, Banten, 85 kilometers west of Jakarta and more than 6,000 square meter of office space in Menara Batavia, Central Jakarta.
The Company’s business strategy is establishing a business that creates the critical mass for other businesses. With this strategy in mind, Jababeka started its business by developing the industrial estate which is now home to more than 1,400 local and multinational companies, such as Unilever, Samsung and Mattel, employing over 600,000 workers, which serve as the main market for the residential and commercial estates, as well as for the Company’s other products.
The Company’s core business activity is to expand, integrate and create a demand for a full range of industrial , residential, commercial and infrastructure developments and can be divided into the following segments, namely (1) industrial, (2) residential, (3) commercial, (4) infrastructure services, (5) education, (6) Energy, (7) Dry Port and (8) Support & leisure facilities. These segments are inter-related and support each other in providing services to investors, buyers and customers.
