Bekasi Power and SUN Energy are Cooperation for the Development of Solar Power Plants

Bekasi, May 8, 2025 – PT Bekasi Power (BP) – a subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk – and SUN Energy, a leading solar energy project developer in Indonesia, have formed a strategic partnership to support the development of an eco-industrial park that is environmentally friendly and sustainable. This partnership is exclusive and encompasses the development of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system for the industrial area that is supplied by PT Bekasi Power’s service area.
This collaboration underlines the commitment of PT Bekasi Power and SUN Energy in promoting the Eco Industrial Park (EIP) concept that balances industrial growth with environmental sustainability. Through the development of the solar power project, this partnership supports the reduction of carbon emissions in the industrial sector and aligns with the target of a 23% renewable energy mix by 2030, as well as Indonesia’s vision towards net-zero emissions by 2060. This initiative also strengthens Bekasi Power’s role in supporting the achievement of the Jababeka Net Zero cluster.
One of the scopes of this cooperation states that SUN Energy will design, build, and manage solar power systems for tenants connected to the electricity grid of PT Bekasi Power. One of the industrial tenants in the area, PT Dharma Precision Parts, has adopted a rooftop solar system in collaboration with the SUN group as a step towards environmentally friendly operations.
In response to this cooperation, Emmanuel Jefferson Kuesar, CEO of SUN Energy, stated, “This partnership is a strategic step in driving the transformation of industrial areas into centers of sustainable growth. SUN Energy sees great potential in the industrial sector to be the main driver of the national energy transition. Through this collaboration, we are not only bringing solar energy solutions but also strengthening a cleaner and more resilient energy ecosystem for the future.”
Oky Gunawan, Chief Sales Officer of SUN Energy, added, “SUN Energy continues to strengthen its position as the number 1 solar energy developer in Indonesia by forming partnerships and providing solutions for the industrial sector to meet energy needs in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way. Currently, more and more customers and business partners are demanding low-emission operational practices, including the use of renewable energy such as solar power plants. By adopting solar energy systems, industry players can reduce operational costs, as well as enhance their competitiveness and reputation in both domestic and global markets.”
SUN Energy, Oky Gunawan said, will continue to expand strategic partnerships with industrial players, commercial entities, and industrial estate managers in various regions of Indonesia. With a flexible approach tailored to the needs of each area, SUN Energy is optimistic about accelerating the sustainable energy transition in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Jony Oktavian Haryanto, President Director of PT Bekasi Power, explained, “We see this partnership as a strategic step to promote the use of renewable energy in the industrial area. As a utility company responsible for energy supply in the Jababeka Industrial Estate, we are committed to supporting the realization of the Jababeka Net Zero cluster, together with our partners. In addition, this step is also one of the methods to achieve green energy targets for Jababeka tenants.”

Djefri Cantono, Operational Director of PT Bekasi Power, added that this initiative is not only about savings, but also represents a real contribution to promoting a more environmentally friendly industry. PT Bekasi Power plays an important role in providing reliable and sustainable energy, as well as supporting Indonesia’s targets in reducing carbon emissions in accordance with commitments under the Paris Agreement and Net Zero Emissions 2060.
“With this collaboration, we are opening doors for Jababeka tenants who want to carry out energy transformation, such as the development of Rooftop Solar Power Plants,” explained Djefri Cantono.
