Cares for Semeru, Jababeka and Tenants Distribute Donations for Temporary Residential Development

The ERUPTION of Mount Semeru in early December 2021 left deep sorrow for residents in villages in Lumajang Regency, East Java. Because the hot cloud avalanches not only result in injuries and missing victims or fatalities, but also have an impact on homes and livestock. Residents of Lumajang Regency had to evacuate and were forced to stay in refugee posts for a relatively long time. It is recorded that there are already 2 thousand people living in refugee camps and the number continues to increase until now.
Seeing these conditions, PT Jababeka Tbk (Jababeka) together with the tenants in the Jababeka Industrial Estate was moved to help. Jababeka together with the Jababeka Industrial Estate tenants raised funds to ease the burden on victims of the Mount Semeru eruption disaster. Currently, a donation of IDR 271.162,000 has been collected and has been handed over to the Lumajang Regency National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) so that it is right on target and according to the needs.
The symbolic assistance was received directly by Indah Amperawati Masdar as Deputy Regent of Lumajang and representatives from Baznas at the Lumajang Regency Government Office, East Java, last Wednesday (12/01).
“We are raising donations, as a form of concern to help others, and we hope that it can help ease the burden on victims of the Mount Semeru eruption,” explained Tjahjadi Rahardja as Deputy President Director of PT Jababeka Tbk.
“We also thank the tenants of the Jababeka Industrial Estate who have contributed to this activity. Hopefully the donations given can provide useful value,” added the man who is usually called Tjahjadi.
Meanwhile, Indah Amperawati Masdar was very grateful and appreciated the steps taken by Jababeka and the tenants of the Jababeka Industrial Estate who had taken the initiative to raise funds.
Indah explained, the donations given from Jababeka and the tenants of the Jababeka Industrial Estate will be used by Baznas for the construction of Temporary Shelters (Huntara) for victims of the eruption of Mount Semeru. Apart from Huntara, the donations disbursed through Baznas will be used to build the environment. Starting from building school institutions – from elementary to high school – , health institutions, markets, as was normal life before the eruption of Mount Semeru.
“Today, I have a special guest from PT Jababeka Tbk handing over a donation in the form of funds that have been transferred to Baznas and God willing, Baznas will use, manage and account for it in a trustworthy manner.
Our best regards to all leaders of PT Jababeka and their partners who have donated and given empathy to residents affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru,” concluded Indah.
