Cikarang Dry Port Ready to Support Implementation of National Logistics Ecosystem

The NATIONAL Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) is a logistics ecosystem that harmonizes the flow of goods traffic (flow of goods) with international documents (flow of documents), from the arrival of the means of transport (ships or planes) until the goods leave the port and arrive at the warehouse.
This logistics system is oriented towards cooperation between government and private agencies, through data exchange, process simplification, elimination of repetition and duplication, and is supported by an information technology system – in the form of a digital platform – which covers all related logistics processes and connects existing logistics systems.
NLE is the government’s breakthrough to encourage national economic growth after being affected by the pandemic. Based on the Presidential Decree, the government hopes that ports in Indonesia can implement this NLE-based service. And one of the things that the government hopes to implement this NLE is Cikarang Dry Port, a public land port in the Jababeka-Cikarang Industrial Estate that provides integrated port and warehousing services for logistics and supply chain activities.
Last Thursday (27/1), Admiral TNI (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Marsetio as Expert Advisor to the Minister of Defense and Maritime Security – Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenves), and Dr. Sahat Manaor Pangabean as Expert Staff of the Minister for Connectivity Management – Ministry of Vessel, paid a working visit to Cikarang Dry Port.
This working visit aims to find out more about the systems and facilities available in one of the subsidiaries of PT Jababeka Tbk, as well as to encourage the acceleration of the implementation of the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE).
“We are interested in studying and seeing firsthand the system that is already running well at the Cikarang Dry Port, and integrating their system with the National Logistics Ecosystem, then exploring to duplicate it in other industrial areas.
The hope is to improve logistics and national connectivity, increase industrial competitiveness, and help the national economic recovery in 2022,” said Dr. Sahat Pangabean Manaor in the coordination meeting.
Cikarang Dry Port also welcomed the working visit which was attended by various officials from ministries and institutions in the logistics and port sector.
“We appreciate the joint working visit made today. Cikarang Dry Port fully supports the implementation of the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) and is ready to connect our smart port system as our synergy together as part of the national logistics ecosystem.” Said Benny Woenardi as Managing Director of Cikarang Dry Port, when welcoming the working visit group.
Benny added that the working visit and coordination meeting today will be followed up with a proposal and integration of the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) with the smart port system developed by Cikarang Dry Port.
The smart port system developed at Cikarang Dry Port intends to connect actors in the logistics and port ecosystem so that they are connected to each other which will facilitate data exchange and simplify the system. Currently, the development of the Cikarang Dry Port smart port has gone through various stages, starting from the implementation of automatic gates, trucking membership, web and mobile applications, online validation such as e-SPPB and e-DO, as well as online payment systems.
During the working visit, representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Tanjung Priok Agricultural Quarantine Center, Pelindo, and others were also present.
