Jababeka Distributed 2.500 Nine Basic Commodities to the Citizens Impacted COVID-19 in 13 Villages

The impact of COVID-19 not only made someone must be at home for a while but also slowed the wheels of the Indonesian economy. In that condition, informal workers or daily income workers are the people who are directly impacted. Starting from hawkers, merchants in the market, driver Ojek, until the driver. Unfortunately, the number of people working in the informal sector in Indonesia is more than those who work in the formal sector.
Seeing the phenomenon, Jababeka Group was not silent. In the title “Bantuan Perusahaan Kawasan Jababeka: Gotong Royong, Jababeka Group through Jababeka Infrastructure together with Indonesia’s National Zakat Agency ( Baznas) distributed basic nine commodities worth IDR 100.000 per package to citizens impacted COVID-19 in 13 villages in around Jababeka Industrial Estate.
The packages of nine basic commodities are contained 2 kg of rice, 10 packs of instant noodles, 1 sachet soy sauce, 1 liter of oil, 1 tin of sweetened condensed milk, 1 box of the teabag, 1 sachet of multifunction kitchen seasoning, 2 pieces of non-medical masks
 
“We have realized that in difficult conditions nowadays, the community still must be able to fulfill their daily needs. But for the people who work in the informal sector, it’s not as easy as reversing the palms, because their income decreases drastically because of physical distancing. Therefore, we distributed 2.500 basic nine commodities packages to the citizens impacted corona,” said Tjahjadi Rahardja, President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastructure as the manager of Jababeka Industrial area, in Jababeka Industrial Estate, Kota Jababeka Cikarang, Thursday (23/4/2020).
He added that the distribution of basic nine commodities packages helped by Indonesia’s National Zakat Agency ( Baznas) and have distributed evenly to 13 villages around Jababeka Industrial Estate.
“This is our third-time effort to suppress the spread of COVID-19, after a week ago distributed free the fabric masks in Jababeka Industrial Estate and distributed cleaning equipment to the community in 13 villages around Jababeka Industrial Estate. We hope the assistance in the form of basic nine commodities packages that we’ve distributed could help to fulfill daily needs and relieve their burden,” said Tjahjadi.
The distribution of basic nine commodities packages is the result of the cooperation between PT Jababeka Infrastructure as management of Jababeka Industrial Estate and several tenants, such as PT Artha Karya Utama, PT Unilever Indonesia, and PT Haluan Utama Karya. These companies contributed their production as proof of humanity in response to the current crisis caused by corona-virus.
