The ROLE of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the informal sector has a major impact on accelerating economic recovery due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. This is because the Indonesian economy is dominated by the MSME and informal sectors and these two sectors are also the most affected by Covid-19. Where makes sales results drop drastically due to recommendations at home.
Therefore, to get out of this condition, one way that can be done is to provide entrepreneurship training so that their products can sell well in the midst of shifting behavior of consumers who are now buying goods no longer coming to stores.
Seeing this condition, the Jababeka Group did not remain silent. Through its subsidiary, Jababeka Infrastruktur has organized entrepreneurship training for Jababeka-assisted MSMEs which was conducted for two days, March 15-16, 2021.
The purpose of holding this training is so that MSME players can survive and develop their business during this pandemic, such as addressing market competition that has already been “price war” whether on the marketplace or offline platform , the importance of product packaging as a value enhancer so that products are preferred by the community, and preparation financial statements.
The training itself was attended by eight MSME business actors who are assisted by Jababeka in the Economic Jabat (Jababeka Friendly) program. And during the two days the training was running interestingly and actively which did not escape the implementation of strict health protocols.
Rina Maulina Mawardi as the resource person and facilitator of the West Java UMKM Champion, explained that the material presented was topics that brought MSME players to increase competitiveness, namely addressing market competition, implementing appropriate marketing strategies, and preparing financial reports on business legality management.
“Even though the participants are still limited to the surrounding MSMEs, I am very pleased and at the same time very appreciative of Jababeka’s concern for the development of MSMEs, especially during the current pandemic,” explained Rina in an event themed MSME Training : Increasing Legality & Business Motivation at the Office of the Community Service and Empowerment Institution. Community (LPPM), Cikarang, recently.
Meanwhile Acep, as a training participant who owns a catfish stick business, admits that he feels the benefits of entrepreneurship training. He explained that he knew better what to do in a pandemic condition.
This is because nowadays people rarely come to shops to buy goods and more than that Acep finally knows the process of managing PIRT (Home Industry Food) which is important for business development. “This all makes me excited to develop my products with the mothers around my house,” he explained.
Aris Dwi Cahyanto as the General Manager of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur said that he was happy if the implementation of the training was able to benefit entrepreneurship training participants. Because it was from the beginning that Jababeka had hoped, namely to be able to help develop the businesses of MSMEs in villages around the Jababeka Industrial Estate.
“This training is a form of our support through the Jabat Ekonomi CSR ( Corporate Social Responsibility ) program, which is one of the pillars of Jababeka’s CSR. The hope is that with this training, MSME players can continuously improve the quality and quantity of their products so that they can sell better in the market, “he concluded.
