Hundreds of Cyclists Liven Up the ‘Fun Bike Tanjung Lesung 2026’
Pandeglang, July 26, 2026 – HUNDREDS of cyclists enthusiastically joined the “Fun Bike Tanjung Lesung 2026” held on Sunday (July 26, 2026). This 18-kilometer fun cycling event was organized as one of the efforts to promote sports tourism while introducing the tourism potential of the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to a wider public.
Since Sunday at 6:00 AM, participants were already gathering around the starting point, which is the entrance to the Panimbang Toll Exit, even though the cycling activity was scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM. Most participants came in groups, some with their families, others with friends or biking communities. They took advantage of the weekend to exercise while enjoying the coastal atmosphere of Tanjung Lesung.
Wahid, a participant from Sobang-Pandeglang, for example, came early with his group of friends. He said he joined this event as a fun way to refresh while also keeping fit.
“Besides exercising, we get to connect with other cycling communities. The event was lively too because there were entertainment, traditional dances, music, and door prizes. I happened to win a prize of Rp2 million, so it was even more memorable,” said Wahid.
Poetoet Soedarjanto, Advisor & Consultant of B2W (Bike to Work) Indonesia, was equally enthusiastic. According to him, the high enthusiasm from the cycling community shows that Tanjung Lesung has huge potential as an eco-based sport tourism destination.

Ivonne Anggraini, Operational Director of Tanjung Lesung, said the participants’ enthusiasm is a positive signal for developing sports tourism in Tanjung Lesung. According to her, the cycling activity, which ends at Lalassa Beach Club, is not just a biking event, but also a way to introduce the tourism potential of Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone to the public, especially the cycling community.
Ivonne – as she is commonly called – also welcomed the suggestion from all parties to make the “Fun Bike Tanjung Lesung” even bigger next year. This is because Tanjung Lesung plans to make this happy cycling event an annual agenda.
“We want to make the fun bike a sustainable event. In the future, this activity will continue to be developed, both in terms of organization and the route, so that it becomes more attractive to the cycling community while also supporting the promotion of Tanjung Lesung as a sport tourism destination,” Ivonne said.
Widi Widiasmanto, Managing Director of Tanjung Lesung, added that the choice of route starting from the Panimbang Toll Exit symbolizes the hope that the toll road construction will soon be completed. “This way, access to Tanjung Lesung will become easier and can increase the interest of tourists and investors alike,” he said.
The Regent of Pandeglang, Raden Dewi Setiani, appreciated all the parties that organized the event. According to her, various events like fun bike rides are important to boost the attractiveness of local tourism.
“Pandeglang Regency has a variety of tourist destinations, ranging from beaches, mountains, cultural sites, to religious tourism. With support from infrastructure development and collaboration from various parties, it is hoped that the tourism sector can have a positive impact on the economic growth of the community,” said Raden Dewi Setiani.
In line with Raden Dewi Setiani, Eli Susiyanti, Head of the Banten Provincial Tourism Office, stated that activities like fun bike are a form of tourist attraction that can boost visits to top destinations in Banten. The event was also attended by Budi S Januardi, Head of the Pandeglang Regency Tourism and Culture Office, and Supratman, the Panimbang Subdistrict Head, along with other local officials as a way to show synergy in supporting the progress of Banten’s tourism.
In addition to holding a fun cycling event, this activity was also enlivened with a performance by the Tanjung Lesung Presidential High School Marching Band, a bazaar of creative economy products, entertainment, and the distribution of door prizes worth millions of rupiah. The presence of various stakeholders, sponsors, communities, and the public is strong evidence of collaboration in supporting tourism development in Tanjung Lesung.
