Jababeka and Auk Industries Hold a Workshop to Support Industrial Tenants to Adopt Technology in the Industrial Era 4.0
CIKARANG – PT Jababeka Tbk, through one of its subsidiaries PT Jababeka Infrastruktur in collaboration with Auk Industries, successfully held a workshop to help the tenants of the Jababeka Industrial Estate carry out more efficient production operations, last Tuesday (6/8), at Fablab Correctio, Jababeka-Cikarang Area.
Carrying the theme “Achieving Operational Excellence”, this workshop is part of Jababeka’s continuous efforts to encourage the growth of the technology ecosystem in Indonesia, especially in Correctio as a forum for innovation, solutions, and technology in bringing together startups with industries in the Jababeka Area.
For your information, Correctio is an area in the Jababeka Cikarang area as “The New Silicon Valley” of Indonesia with Fablab Jababeka as the driver of Correctio along with the pillars of Society 5.0, Industry 4.0, and Transit Oriented Development (TOD).
“We are committed to providing added value for industry players in the Jababeka Area through programs that can improve the quality of their operations. By collaborating with Auk Industries, we believe that this workshop will help companies in our region achieve operational excellence through the implementation of lean manufacturing,” said Iman Firmansyah, Head of Fablab Correctio, in his speech.
Felius Yuseli – Head of Business Development AUK Industries Indonesia explained that lean manufacturing is an effort to eliminate waste at all levels in the entire manufacturing system and design a method or layout that improves production performance. Waste elimination is usually related to the production system, starting from cycle time, materials, labor, energy, and so on where this waste is classified as a hidden category, which has an impact on disrupted production activities.
Further, Felius – his nickname – explained that the way to implement lean manufacturing is to adopt industry 4.0 technology. Currently, there is industrial technology with an Internet of Things (IoT) system that can easily read the state of a machine’s production and maintenance area. With devices connected to the machine and also connected to the internet and integrated with the cloud system, this “system” can help collect data automatically, transparently, and in real-time. As a result, company technicians can also analyze and make quick decisions for more efficient production operations.
A concrete example of the use of this “analysis device”, after the screening process, technicians can find out that the machine that should have produced 100 units was only able to reach 80 units because there were parts that needed to be repaired. On the other hand, the engine may be capable of exceeding 100 units. In addition, technicians can also find that the machine cannot operate for a maximum of eight hours because there are components that require maintenance.
In addition, if the maintenance of production machines used to be done manually. But with this analysis tool, machines can automatically collect detailed data in visual form. “So, technicians already know which parts of the production machine need to be maintained, so that the work is more precise and faster,” explained Felius.
Currently, many companies are using this device to transform to Industry 4.0. One of the most trusted IoT solution providers is Auk Industries. This can happen, said Felius, because his production machine analysis tools can help various industrial sectors, namely F&B, consumer products, metal processing and precision engineers, polymer molding, packaging, and electronics and semiconductors.
“Why is lean manufacturing so important for companies today? Because it can keep businesses competitive in the market. By integrating with our tools, companies can achieve significant efficiency gains and cost savings, which are 10-30%,” said Felius.
The interest in this workshop is extraordinary. A total of 40 participants actively asked about the implementation of lean manufacturing. Not only that, participants will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions and practical activities to strengthen their learning.
