Jababeka and Telkomsel Sign Cooperation Agreement About 5G Technology Support to Help Tenants Transform to Industry 4.0
Cikarang, October 8, 2024 – PT Jababeka Tbk (KIJA) through one of its subsidiaries, PT Infrastruktur Cakrawala Telekomunikasi (ICTel), strengthens its role in assisting digital transformation for tenants in the Jababeka Industrial Estate by collaborating with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemkominfo) and Telkomsel. They jointly held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme “Towards Industry 4.0: Optimal Digitalization for Improving the Effectiveness of Manufacturing Operations”, located at Fablab Jababeka, last Tuesday (8/10).
This event is part of Jababaka’s efforts to help accelerate the adoption of 5G, IoT, and Smart Manufacturing technologies for business actors in the Jababeka Industrial Estate. This tripartite collaboration is expected to provide a deeper insight into the importance of implementing digital technology in the manufacturing sector, especially in taking benefit of the advantages of the 5G network which is increasingly widely applied in the Jababeka Industrial Estate.
In the FGD, Aju Widya Sari, ST, MT Director of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Communication and Information, conveyed his views on the importance of digitalization in the industrial sector.
“Digitalization is not just a trend, but an essential need for the industry to keep competitive. Through the use of 5G technology and Smart Manufacturing, we hope that the industry in the Jababeka Industrial Estate can achieve higher efficiency and sustainable innovation,” he said in front of more than 100 business actors.
Iman Firmansyah, President Director of PT Infrastruktur Cakrawala Telekomunikasi (ICTel), expressed his views on ICTel’s commitment to supporting industrial digitalization in the Jababeka Industrial Estate.

With the support of 5G technology provided, we are committed to presenting solutions that increase the productivity and operational efficiency of business actors to win the competition on the regional and global stages,” said Iman Firmansyah.
Meanwhile, Nyoman Adiyasa, Vice President of Area Account Management of PT Telkomsel, also emphasized Telkomsel’s commitment to supporting the acceleration of digitalization in the industrial sector. “Through the provision of an increasingly expanded 5G network, we hope to contribute to business actors in the Jababeka Industrial Estate in realizing integrated smart manufacturing. This innovation will help the industry increase productivity and product quality, as well as accelerate the step towards industry 4.0,” said Nyoman Adiyasa.
Jababeka and Telkomsel agree to provide 5G network
In the middle of the event, a cooperation was also signed between PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) and Jababeka. This agreement aims to strengthen the collaboration between the two parties in providing optimal digital infrastructure for business actors in the Jababeka Industrial Estate, especially in the provision of NBIoT-based smart lightning services by utilizing the 5G network. This signing is an important step in realizing a connected and competitive industrial ecosystem in the digital era.
Responding to the signing of the agreement, Fadli GM-Enterprise Solution Management Telkomsel said, “With the 5G infrastructure we provide, we are confident that we can provide digital solutions that not only increase productivity but also product quality from business actors in the Jababeka Industrial Estate. This is a big step towards a more massive implementation of Industry 4.0 in Indonesia.”
As for this FGD and signatory, Telkomsel also held a coaching clinic session for tenants of the Jababeka Industrial Estate. This session provides an opportunity for business actors to consult directly regarding the challenges and problems of digitalization faced in their companies. With guidance from technology and digitalization experts, tenants can find concrete solutions to improve operational effectiveness, adopt new technologies, and face challenges that arise in the transformation process towards Industry 4.0.
