Jababeka Becomes the Only Industrial Estate to Receive Green PROPER Rating from the Ministry of Environment
Jakarta, April 7, 2026 – PT Jababeka Infrastruktur as the manager of the Jababeka-Cikarang Industrial Estate, has once again achieved an outstanding accomplishment in the field of environmental management by receiving the PROPER (Corporate Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management) Green rating for its 2025 performance from the Ministry of Environment/Environmental Management Agency (KLH/BPLH) of the Republic of Indonesia.
This prestigious award was presented directly at the PROPER Environment Awards 2026 event held at Sasono Langen Budoyo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta, on April 7, 2026. This achievement is even more meaningful as it marks the sixth time for PT Jababeka Infrastruktur as a whole, while also strengthening its position as a role model for green industrial estate in Indonesia.
The PROPER Green award was received directly by Didik Purbadi, President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, as a form of recognition for the company’s consistency in implementing environmental management that goes beyond compliance, while also integrating sustainability principles into all aspects of the area’s operations.
PROPER is an environmental evaluation instrument organised by KLH/BPLH to encourage companies to improve environmental management performance sustainably. The Green rating is given to companies that have carried out environmental management efforts beyond the required provisions, including the implementation of an environmental management system, efficient use of resources, and the implementation of structured and impactful community empowerment programs.
On this occasion, Didik Purbadi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all stakeholders who have contributed to the sustainability journey of the Jababeka Industrial Estate.
“Government standards are becoming increasingly strict, and we actually see this as motivation. Our team has worked hard for an entire year not just to meet, but to exceed the established standards. These six Green PROPER awards (overall) reflect the synergy of all stakeholders in the Jababeka ecosystem – that sustainability is not merely an obligation, but a legacy we want to leave for future generations,” said Didik Purbadi, President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastructure.
“Moving forward, through a pentahelix approach together with the government, academics, the community, and the media, we will continue to encourage all companies in this area to always comply and even surpass existing standards,” added Didik Purbadi.
This award reflects a series of concrete initiatives carried out by PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, including the operation of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) that ensures effluent (wastewater) quality meets environmental standards – contributing to the saving of thousands of cubic meters of clean water throughout 2024, the development of a Mini Scale Recycle Effluent WWTP for the reuse of treated water as non-potable water, emission control through energy efficiency and environmentally friendly operational practices, as well as waste management based on circular economy principles.
On the social side, Jababeka Infrastruktur actively implements programs for women’s empowerment, community food security, expanded access to clean water and sanitation, and job creation covering 14 villages and 4 sub-districts in the surrounding areas, “and supports thousands of workers and tens of thousands of residents within the integrated ecosystem,” explained Didik Purbadi.
The entire sustainability strategy is implemented through a penta-helix collaborative approach involving the government, academics, communities, the private sector, and the media, facilitated through the Jababeka City Council forum as a space for cross-stakeholder dialogue. Going forward, PT Jababeka Infrastruktur – one of the subsidiaries of PT Jababeka Tbk – is committed to continuously promoting environmentally friendly technological innovation and expanding the social impact of the area as part of the long-term sustainability journey.
