A significant step to improve the quality of security

Recently, PT Jababeka Infrastruktur as the manager of the Jababeka Cikarang Industrial Estate – which is a National Vital Object (Obvitnas) – signed the technical work guidelines for the Obvitnas Security Management System (SMP) with the National Police (National Police of the Republic of Indonesia). The event was attended by officials from the Directorate of Pamobvit Sabhara Corps at the National Police Headquarters and the management of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur.

“Today, a significant step has been taken by the Jababeka Industrial Estate in strengthening the national vital object security management system (obvitnas). The signing of the technical work guidelines for SMP Obvitnas marks a joint commitment to improve the quality of security throughout the Jababeka Industrial Estate,” said Vega Violetta Puspa, Director of Operations of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, at the Jababeka Golf & Country Club, Jababeka-Cikarang Area, Monday (12/8/2024).

Furthermore, Vega – as she is commonly called – explained that this technical work guideline is the result of intensive collaboration between the Jababeka Industrial Estate and the Ditpamobvit of the Sabhara Baharkam Corps of the National Police Headquarters which is held by Brigadier General Pol Suhendri, S.H., S.I.K., M.PSDM. The main purpose of these guidelines is to establish clear standards and procedures in securing obvitnas, ensuring that all measures taken are in accordance with dynamic and complex security needs.

“The signing of this technical work guideline is an important milestone in our efforts to ensure that the Jababeka Industrial Estate as a obvitnas is well protected. With these guidelines, we have systematic and comprehensive guidance to deal with various security challenges that may arise,” added Vega, in his remarks.

Maintaining the investment climate

These guidelines cover various critical aspects, such as risk assessment, security management, threat response, and post-incident recovery. The implementation of these guidelines is expected to improve coordination between agencies, strengthen the surveillance system, and ensure better preparedness in dealing with various potential threats.

In addition, the guidelines are also designed to facilitate technical training and capacity building for the security personnel involved. Thus, each individual involved in the security of obvitnas will have a deeper understanding of the procedures and techniques needed to carry out their duties effectively.

“We believe that with these technical work guidelines, we can be more prepared and responsive in protecting our obvitanas. This is part of our ongoing commitment to maintain the security and integrity of the national obvitnas as a strategic asset of the nation,” he concluded, closing his remarks.

Further, Vega added, “The Jababeka Industrial Estate is one of the industrial estates that plays an important role in the national economy. Until now, the Jababeka Industrial Estate has been very safe with the help of various parties (Bekasi Metro Police and KOREM 051 Wijayakarta) until it has been successful for more than 30 years and has gone through cycles and challenges, such as the 1998 reform era and the economic crisis in 2004. We are trying not to let our (investment) chart be normal or go down, but the graph can continue to rise so that the manufacturing industry does not move or investors can enter the Jababeka Industrial Estate.

With this signing, the goal is that we can maintain the investment climate as well as the Jababeka Industrial Estate has competitiveness with competitors, from industrial estates in Johor-Malaysia, Viet Nam and Thailand. Where the Jababeka Industrial Estate can provide legal certainty and security. So that investors can be confident in investing in the Jababeka Industrial Estate and creating jobs as much as possible.”

This technical work guideline will begin to be implemented immediately and is expected to have a significant positive impact on security management in the Jababeka Industrial Estate, especially in the future.

“I really appreciate and thank you for the implementation of the signing of this cooperation. This is a positive thing for the common good, so that investors do not move abroad or investors can continue to survive,” said Brigadier General Pol Suhendri, S.H., S.I.K., M.PSDM.

“With this collaboration, we will build how the security management system can be implemented in the Jababeka Industrial Estate. Not only physical security such as installing CCTV and so on, but we will build a system from upstream to downstream. So that the business process can run smoothly, safely, in an orderly manner, without any interruptions. I Hopefully, if one thing happens, we can mitigate it or solve the problem immediately, without protracting, without disrupting business activities in industrial estates,” he added.
