Jababeka Golf & Country Club Strengthens Indonesia’s Golf Tourism Through Collaboration with Japanese Golf Clubs

Jakarta, May 22, 2025 – Golf tourism is one of the sectors of tourism that is currently being promoted in Indonesia. This is because Indonesia has advantages in terms of tropical natural beauty, professional services, and complete golf course facilities. This potential makes Indonesia a prime destination for golfers, especially from the Asian region.
One destination that should be considered is Jababeka Golf & Country Club, located in Kota Jababeka, Cikarang-West Java. This golf club offers a golfing experience that is not only comfortable but also challenging, because course is designed by top golfer Nick Faldo, as well as support from international-standard facilities. Its strategic location – just about an hour from Jakarta – adds extra value for those looking to relax on the weekend while playing golf.
Currently, Jababeka Golf & Country Club – a subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk – has become a favorite golfing spot for expatriates from Japan, Korea, China, and Thailand living around Jakarta. To further expand its network and increase the number of international golfers playing at the club, Jababeka Golf & Country Club continues to establish strategic partnerships with various foreign golf clubs.
One of the concrete steps is realized through the signing of a reciprocal cooperation agreement with Tateshina Kogen Country Club, a prestigious golf club from Nagano, Japan. The signing was conducted by Setiawan Mardjuki as the President Director of PT Padang Golf Cikarang and M. Afriza Dahmin as the Operational Director of PT Padang Golf Cikarang, along with Mamoru Tsurukawa as the Executive Director of Alpico Resort & Life Co., Ltd, and Yuichi Sato as the President of Alpico Resort & Life Co., Ltd, witnessed by Koji Kawano as the General Manager of Kawano Golf Residence.
With this cooperation, members of both clubs can play golf with each other and use the facilities at each location exclusively. They only need to bring their membership cards when they want to play golf at Jababeka Golf & Country Club or Tateshina Kogen Country Club.
Yuichi Sato expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration.
“We from Alpico, the manager of Tateshina Kogen Country Club located in a mountainous area with cool air and beautiful panorama, are pleased to establish a reciprocal partnership with the beautiful Jababeka Golf & Country Club that has high-quality golf courses in Cikarang.
We want to exchange our members to each golf course. We will start sending our members to play at Jababeka Golf next summer. I am sure that the experience of playing golf in Indonesia, with a different atmosphere, will be something interesting and enjoyable for our members,” he said.
A similar statment was expressed by Setiawan Mardjuki. According to him, this collaboration opens up great opportunities to strengthen golf tourism between Indonesia and Japan. Indonesia has many beautiful and internationally standard golf courses, including Jababeka Golf & Country Club, which can be an attractive destination for golfers from Japan.
He added that the ideal visit time for Japanese golfers to Indonesia is not only during the summer but also in the winter. Because, during the winter in Japan, the warm weather in Indonesia becomes a unique attraction for playing golf.
“Therefore, we are very excited to welcome this cooperation and are optimistic that we can encourage an increase in tourist visits, especially Japanese golfers, to come to Indonesia,” said Setiawan Mardjuki.
Meanwhile, M. Afriza Dahmin added that there are already many Japanese expatriate golfers who play at Jababeka Golf & Country Club. This will make the members from Tateshina Kogen Country Club feel comfortable and like they are ‘feeling at home’ when playing at Jababeka Golf & Country Club.”
Not to forget, they plan to invite members from Indonesia and abroad from Jababeka Golf & Country Club to experience the unique opportunity of playing golf at Tateshina Kogen Country Club. Moreover, the trend of Indonesian tourists traveling to Japan continues to rise, including for golfing. Several travel agents in Indonesia have even offered special packages to golf courses in Japan, such as a 3-day package for 2 golf courses.
“Therefore, we are confident that this collaboration will be mutually beneficial and bring long-term benefits for both parties. We hope this partnership can continue in the future,” he said.
