Jababeka Industrial Estate Again Wins Green PROPER Award from KLHK
PT Jababeka Tbk, through one of its subsidiaries PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, as the management of the Jababeka-Cikarang Industrial Estate, once again won the 2023 Green Company Performance Assessment (PROPER) award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
PROPER is a program owned by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in supervising industries that aims to encourage industry compliance with environmental regulations. However, PROPER is not a substitute for conventional compliance instruments that have been running, but a complement and synergy with other compliance instruments. So that efforts to improve environmental quality can be carried out more efficiently and effectively.
There are several types of assessments in PROPER ranging from Black, Red, Blue, Green, to Gold. Green PROPER is given to businesses and activities that have carried out environmental management beyond compliance, such as implementing an environmental management system utilizing resources efficiently and carrying out social responsibility well. Meanwhile, if environmental management is carried out only according to requirements, the award given is Blue PROPER.
The PROPER award was received by representatives from PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, namely Tjahjadi Rahardja as President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur which was given directly by Deputy Minister of Environment & Forestry Alue Dohong and Director of Environmental Damage Pollution Control, Sigit Reliantoro at the Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/20/2023).
Responding to this, Tjahjadi Rahardja, President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, felt proud because this Green PROPER award is a tangible manifestation of the achievements of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur which always consistently implements an environmentally friendly industrial estate management management system and applies sustainability principles.
“We strive for Jababeka’s CSR program to be in line with the theme of each year raised by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, such as this year, namely ending poverty, reducing inequality, empowering women, healthy and sustainable food systems, and energy transition. With the achievement of this award, will certainly encourage us to be enthusiastic about running environmental and sustainability programs next year,” said Tjahjadi.
Tjahjadi Rahardja, also admitted that he was increasingly optimistic about the targets of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur in the future which would continue to consistently apply the principles of sustainability that have been running and continue to improve them. In the future in maintaining the Green PROPER position, PT Jababeka will continue to improve its programs so that it can achieve Gold PROPER.
“With all the support of management and all teams in the field, Jababeka will continue to strive for environmental and sustainability programs to run well so that it is not impossible that we can get Green PROPER again in the year of bringing and finally get Gold PROPER,” concluded Tjahjadi.
