Jababeka Supports the Teenagers in Realizing a Stunting Free Bekasi Regency
STUNTING is not just the nation’s problem at this time only, but it is also a problem concerning the future of the nation itself, children’s are the next generation that will realize the vision of Golden Indonesia in 2045. The government itself is very seriously striving to reduce stunting, one of them is by signing of the President Regulation No.72 about the acceleration of stunting reduction in 2021. One of the target groups in the implementation of the acceleration of stunting reduction is teenagers.
To help solve the problem, as an expression of concern towards teenagers, PT Jababeka Tbk (Jababeka) is active in supporting Mekarmurti Public Health Center at North Cikarang District on fostering Youth Integrated Health Center in its service area. Jababeka held “Fun For Teens” activity at Hollywood Junction Jababeka – Cikarang consisting of: (1) Medical Examination for teenagers and a short video competition, (2) Health Education Competition and (3) Infographic Poster Competition about health education with the theme of Stunting and the dangers of drugs & free sex.
Tjahjadi Rahardja as Vice Director of PT Jababeka Tbk, explained in detail that the intent of “Fun For Teens” activity, is for the teenagers to have a good physical and mental health. So that it can help them in understanding the stages of development at their age. Because, a healthy teenager is a superior human resources “Investment” for Bekasi Regency.
He also wishes the “Fun For Teens” activity can provide benefits and blessings to the community, especially the teenagers of North Cikarang.
“Fun For Teens” event is one of Jababeka’s effort in supporting the government of Bekasi Regency program of becoming Stunting Free, namely through increasing teenagers health capacity and fostering Youth Integrated health Center,” said Tjahjadi recently, at Jababeka City – Cikarang.
The event went on quite lively. Around 50 teenagers – from boys as well as girls – attended in “Fun For Teens” activity and participated in the competitions. The scoring of the competition itself is conducted at Friday (26/8) and the announcement of the winner as well as the closing ceremony is conducted at Saturday (27/8).
In between participating in various competition, all of the Youth Integrated Health Center cadre carried out medical examination. Starting from measurement of height and head circumference, weighing, color blindness test and hemoglobin test.
Responding to the issue, Dr. Sri Enny Mainiarty as Head of Bekasi Regency Health Department, welcomes and appreciates Jababeka on the activities targeting these youths. In her opinion, “Fun For Teens” activity is excellent to help make Bekasi Regency free of stunting.
“By conducting stunting education from a young age, it is already the right step. Because, later on they will become a prospective parents who will give birth to a stunting-free generation” closed Dr. Sri.
