Pertamina NRE – Jababeka Infrastruktur Signed Green Industrial Cluster Development Contract
NUSA DUA – Pertamina NRE (PT Pertamina Power Indonesia) and one of PT Jababeka Tbk subsidiaries, PT Jababeka Infrastruktur signed a contract at Monday (29/8) for the development of green industrial cluster in Jababeka Industrial Area in Cikarang. The initial step that have been taken by both sides is through the instalment of PLTS Rooftop.
The signing was done by Dannif Danusaputro as CEO of Pertamina NRE and Agung Wicaksono as Managing Director of Jababeka Infrastruktur. Also in attendance to witness the signing is Arifin Tasrif as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of The Republic of Indonesia as well as Nicke Widyawati as General Director of Pertamina.
“I encourage more global partnership not only among the private sector, but also with public sectors to accelerate the implementation. We hope that today’s partnership can encourage more business action through collaborative collaboration between the public and private sector,” said Arifin in his speech.
On the same occasion, Nicke conveys, “this collaboration aligns with the government’s target in energy transition. Besides that, this project will bring benefit towards industrial tenants in Jababeka Industrial Area – Cikarang in increasing the utilization of renewable energy.”
With the same tone as Nicke, Dannif stated that green industrial cluster is one of Pertamina NRE future business focus.
“We welcome this strategic synergy, keeping in mind that this project is supporting the effort to lower emission. Pertamina NRE very enthusiastically provides solution for industries with commitment to increase the utilization of green energy,” said Dannif.
The signing of the contract is the follow up from the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Pertamina and PT Jababeka Tbk at 18th January 2022. Both entities has the same vision in supporting the energy transition effort and reach the national target of Net Zero Emission by 2060.
Importantly, PT Jababeka Tbk is the developer and manager of Jababeka area in Cikarang- which is the ‘home’ of more than 2000 industrial tenant from 30 countries -, Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone, Kendal Special Economic Zone, and Morotai Special Economic Zone. As for the development of PLTS itself, the whole area has the potency limited to 75 MW capacity.
“The supply of infrastructure for industrial area is the main business of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur along with government commitment on energy transition. The first PLTS in Jababeka Infrastruktur will be built at the rooftop of Water Treatment Plant facilities. With this we collaborate with Pertamina NRE and supports the role of PLN in energy transition,” said Agung.
Currently with the rise of industrial needs to utilize new and renewable energy, especially industries that have a global commitment to participate in the effort to control climate change. With Jababeka’s vision to become a pioneer in green industrial estate, this collaboration will be very compatible.
Pertamina NRE itself has a strong commitment towards implementing environment, social and governance (ESG). This commitment can be seen from Pertamina NRE aggressive efforts to oversee the energy transition, both from the inside as well as outside of Pertamina Group. Inside Pertamina Group, Pertamina NRE collaborates with other Pertamina sub-holding to lower the carbon emission in the operational area through PLTS utilization. While outside of Pertamina Group, Pertamina NRE collaborates with fellow BUMN to achieve the same result.
