Signed “Trans-Jababeka” Cooperation with Leading Bus Providers, Jababeka Realizes TOD City
PT Jababeka Tbk is looking to make Kota Jababeka- Cikarang into an independent city with the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) through Trans-Jababeka. Trans-Jababeka itself is an integrated mass transportation service that serves the movement of people in Jababeka-Cikarang, both within the region and between regions from Bekasi Regency to touch the capital of DKI Jakarta and the Jabodetabek agglomeration area and its surroundings.
Currently, TOD City Jababeka continues to grow rapidly. This was after the signing of a Letter of Cooperation Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding on the development of public transportation modes in the Jababeka-Cikarang City Area between “Trans Jababeka” and four (4) bus transportation providers, namely Sinar Jaya, Perum PPD, Perum DAMRI and Swoop, at the Hollywood Junction Jababeka- Kota Jababeka, Tuesday (06/09/2022).
The signing of the cooperation agreement was carried out by Agung Wicaksono as Managing Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur with Dadan Rudiansyah as Commercial and Business Development Director of DAMRI, Bambang Suryo Susakti as Director of Operations and Marketing of Perum PPD, Brigjen.Pol(P). Dr.Drs. Muh. Elijah WM. S.H., M.M., Adv. as Director of Human Resources of Sinar Jaya. Meanwhile, the signing of the MoU was carried out by Agung Wicaksono with Michael Geric as The Co-Founder of Swoop regarding increasing accessibility to Jababeka City.
“The objective of this cooperation is to create an integrated public transportation system in the Jababeka Cikarang City area. Where presents public transportation to connect the entire Jababeka City area with surrounding major cities and transportation between other modes of public transportation (commuter buses, airports, KRL stations and Fast Trains). We would like to thank the operators who are willing to collaborate in optimizing mass transportation in Jababeka Cikarang City,” explained Suteja S. Darmono, President Director of PT. Grahabuana Cikarang as the developer and manager of Jababeka Cikarang City, in his speech.
Through the establishment of these four collaborations, there will be a DAMRI Bus with the Jababeka Area route with Soekarno-Hatta Airport which operates every day (according to the predetermined departure schedule); Intercity and Interprovincial (Inter-Provincial) and AKDP (Inter-City Within Province) buses from Sinar Jaya which operate every day (Monday to Sunday) to Central Java; there will also be a Bus from PERUM PPD with the Kota Jababeka route to the Jakarta area which operates every day; and there will be Swoop Buses to improve accessibility to Kota Jababeka.
Currently, TOD City Jababeka already exists with the presence of a number of public transportations. Starting from the Jabodetabek Residence Connexion service with the Hollywood Junction route to Blok M-Jakarta, Jabodetabek Airport Connexion, AKDP Bus to the DAMRI Shuttle Bus service with the route from Hollywood Junction to Cikarang Station.
“Actually, some bus operators who signed the cooperation have also operated, and plus other bus operators in the signing of this cooperation agreement and MoU, it will certainly make it easier for the community and workers to move to and from Jababeka City,” explained Suteja.
Response from Pj Bupati Bekasi
Responding to this, Dani Ramdan as the Acting Regent of Bekasi gave appreciation to Jababeka and the bus operators who were willing to synergize. According to him, the collaboration will have a positive impact on the people of Bekasi Regency, especially those who live and work in Jababeka City.
“I am personally present here, providing support, and at the same time present from the ministry of transportation for me to ask for its support so that the Central Government provides public bus public service facilities like in other cities, namely ‘buy the service’ where the government pays based on the services provided, especially for transportation outside the industrial area to the industrial area. Thus reducing traffic generation due to the use of private vehicles – both two-wheeled and four-wheeled – which are currently very large in number and cause congestion,” explained Dani Ramdan.
The same thing was also conveyed by Tatan Rustandi, ATD, M.Sc as the Director of Transportation of BPTJ of the Ministry of Transportation. He said that the Ministry of Transportation will support by providing public bus service facilities ‘buy the service’ and Tatan is optimistic that the presence of buy the service public buses and a number of bus operators in the Hollywood Junction Shuttle Bus will not only help facilitate the mobility of people who live or work in the Jababeka Area. However, it also makes people use public transportation again in the current condition, not a few people use private transportation, both motorbikes and cars.
Strengthen TOD City Jababeka
Meanwhile, Agung Wicaksono as Managing Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, added that the presence of an integrated transportation system has become a necessity for the Jababeka City area because Jababeka City currently has one million workers and 1.2 population. Where the flow of people and employees to Jababeka- Cikarang City during productive hours is relatively high, namely 2 million people.
Therefore, said Agung, with the realization of cooperation today, it is hoped that it can provide convenience and comfort for residents living in Jababeka City and employees who work in Jababeka City. In addition, strengthening TOD City Jababeka which currently exists will also be a support for The Next Silicon Valley Jababeka area which will be launched on Thursday (9/9), namely Correctio.
“In 2020 I left TransJakarta and in 2021 joined Jababeka, did not expect that in 2022 this could then be born ‘Trans-Jababeka’. Because as it is already running in Jakarta, Jababeka as part of Bekasi Raya needs to have integrated public transportation to serve its citizens,” explained Agung.
The event was also attended by the Bekasi regency government and Jababeka management, namely R. Yana Suyatna as Head of the Bekasi Regency Transportation Office, Drs. Dedy Supriyadi, MM as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bekasi Regency, and Tjahjadi Rahardja as Vice President Director of PT Jababeka Tbk.
