Trans Central Java Bus in Kendal Industrial Park Officially Launched

Kendal – Today, Thursday (15 October 2020), BRT Trans Central Java officially operates in the Kendal Industrial Area (KIK). This government subsidized transportation service which is included in the KIK environment is the result of cooperation between KIK, the Central Java Provincial Government (Central Java), and the Central Java Transportation Agency. The Trans Jateng BRT at KIK covers the Semarang – Kendal corridor and serves passengers from Mangkang and Bahurekso terminals.

The launching event took place in front of the KIK Trans Central Java BRT stop and was attended by the Head of the Central Java Transportation Agency Satrio Hidayat, the Managing Director of KIK Stanley Ang, and several invited guests from tenants.

In the early stages of BRT operation, buses from the Mangkang terminal will pass through the Semarang Zoo Shelter before entering KIK and the Bahurekso terminal which will pass through Kendal Square and will enter KIK. The schedule is 2 morning rites at 06.30 – 09.00 WIB and 2 evening rites at 14.30 – 17.30 WIB. The tariff for using the Trans-Central Java BRT is IDR 2,000 for students, laborers and veterans. As for the general public, the rate is Rp. 4,000.

Currently there are 900 employees from tenants who are already operating, 65 lecturers from the Furniture Polytechnic belonging to the Ministry of Industry and 300 students from the polytechnic. Meanwhile, if 63 KIK tenants are already operating, there will be 8,450 workers, with a projection of 12,000 workers in 2021.

With the Trans Java Central BRT, it is hoped that workers and students can have alternative modes of transportation to the Kendal Industrial Estate. For information, there are currently two Trans Jateng BRT bus stops at KIK. The first point is adjacent to the KIK gate entrance. The second point, adjacent to the Furniture Industry and Wood Processing Polytechnic. In the early stages of operation, the government will continue to review the passenger volume at the two bus stops. Additional rituals at a later date will be carried out according to the needs of the workers.

Meanwhile, Satrio Hidayat, Head of the Central Java Transportation Agency, which officially opened the Trans Java Central BRT operation service, appealed to employees or factory workers at KIK to use this public transportation service. Apart from the low cost, the use of BRT is much more practical.

The Managing Director of the Kendal Industrial Estate, Stanley Ang, also appreciated the government’s trust in granting the Trans Java Central BRT operation permit in the cooperation area between the Jababeka and Sembcrop Groups. In particular, Stanley advised all tenant representatives who were present to actively socialize the Trans Java Central BRT services in the environment where they worked.
To all tenants, keep employees informed about Trans Jateng services. I really appreciate the Provincial Government and the Transportation Service for supporting KIK so that the Trans Central Java BRT can enter this area, “said Stanley.

Polytechnic Director Dra. Tri Ernawati, M.Si also revealed that being at the Trans Central Java BRT would reduce employees and students using their private transportation so that traffic inside and outside would be reduced.
