Welcomed Festively, Jababeka Successfully Held the Sprint Rally & Slalom Regional Championship in Jababeka Area- Cikarang
CIKARANG – Jababeka 3 in 1 Autosport Championship 2022 was successfully held in the Helypad Dryport Jababeka Area, Area Jababeka-Cikarang, from December 11 – December 12, 2022. The event, which was initiated by PT Jababeka Tbk – through one of its subsidiaries Jababeka Hospitality – and Pangarang Racing Team Indonesia, contains the fifth round of the sprint rally national championship, and the regional championship (kejurda) slalom and drifting show.
The event runs smoothly
The sprint rally and slalom championships went exciting and smoothly with the number of riders reaching around 200 riders. Where the breakdown is about 70 riders for the sprint rally and 131 drivers for the slalom championship.
Mansur Sulaeman, SAP, MM as the Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Coordinator for the Bekasi Regency region, appreciated Jababeka’s management for preparing facilities so that the Jababeka 3 in 1 Autosport Championship 2022 racing event could be held. Mansur hopes that the motorsport championship in Jababeka will be present again in 2023, not even just held once. Because, according to Mansur, the interest of drivers in the Jababeka 3 in 1 Autosport Championship 2022 is relatively high and running successfully.
“Also, because many slalom and sprint rally racers are domiciled in Jakarta and Bandung,” said the man who is also a racer and advisor at IMI Center.
The same thing was also conveyed by Fredi Rostiawan as the chief organizer of Pangarang Racing Team Indonesia. With three motorsport events running smoothly, he hopes that the motorsport event will return to the Jababeka Area in 2023.
“Alhamdulillah, (hopefully) this will not be the first event in the Jababeka Area, hopefully this event will continue in the future,” said Fredi.
A warm welcome from residents and communities around the area
Meanwhile, for two days, the Jababeka 3 in 1 Autosport Championship 2022 event received a warm welcome by residents of the Jababeka Area and the community around the region. They not only filled the Festival Bazaar and Food areas of the event, but also filled every corner of the track from the sprint rally championship.
“An okay event, amazing. Maybe one of these events is entertainment that rarely exists in Cikarang, especially automotive,” said Acan Saepudin, one of the residents who lives around the Jababeka Area.
Meanwhile, other residents, Tatang, appreciated this racing competition because the public had exciting entertainment and could see it up close. He also said, “The Jababeka area has good potential (as a motorsport championship location). It looks like the crowd is on this Sunday, it’s quite dense. The area is also quite supportive where in terms of food it is very easy.”
Currently, Jababeka Area has become a bustling area with a population of 1.2 million people. That’s because this 5.600 ha area has facilities that pamper its residents. Starting from modern shopping centers such as Living Plaza Jababeka and Hollywood Junction, Jababeka Golf & Country Club, international-class sports facilities, integrated transportation facilities, education centers from elementary schools to universities, and three national standard hospitals.
Meanwhile, Setiawan Mardjuki as the management of Jababeka Hospitality confirmed that motorsport racing events in the Jababeka area will be there again in the coming year. Moreover, the completion of this first race event went smoothly with a lot of participants and spectators.
“We are, with pleasure, continuing this cooperation for next year,” Setiawan said.
Jababeka is also committed that the organization of the motorsport championship in the coming year will be better by complementing the existing shortcomings. This is because the holding of motorsport racing events in the Jababeka Area is not only to enliven the area and make other regions familiar with the Jababeka Area. However, these efforts are to be able to boost the economy in the Bekasi Regency area, such as hotels and the F&B industry.
“Hopefully, (our target) can be achieved with the next event,” Setiawan concluded.
